Politics of Economics: Shockingly Candid Response From Wealthy Obama Donor

Trying global economic times are still upon us, and might be getting worse.

Unfortunately, reporting on the economy appears to be getting slanted due to the upcoming election in the United States. Unlike 2008, when the sitting president was not running for reelection, the current president is. Unsurprisingly, almost every bit of economic news we have seen over the past few months has been wrapped up in political terms - and when coming from corporate sources, such as the mainstream media, sometimes the bias is almost too thick to slice.

Deep down inside everyone knows that the wealthy and corporations love the generous tax breaks and loopholes provided to them by the GOP and bought-and-paid-for corpDems, but this is rarely something one gets to hear being acknowledged from someone closest to those ranks. Thus it was with obvious surprise that MSNBC host Rachel Maddow elicited such a response from her guest last night:

Harvey Weinstein, movie producer, co-founder of Miramax, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company and Obama fundraiser, talks with Rachel Maddow about why big money donors are giving disproportionately to Mitt Romney in 2012 and what motivates big money bundlers and political backers.
